For the project a perfect world I will make a school uniform. Why a uniform?
Can a uniform take away the differences between rich and poor? Is everybody going to be equal? Will people join as a group? Will cultural differences go away? Will people stop looking down on people wearing cheap or second hand clothing? Can people keep their own identity? Lots of questions for lots of answers. Children from a school in Nijmegen thought about whether they wanted to wear a uniform or not. They made designs for a uniform which I’m going to use as wallpaper. I’ve made three frames with my uniform concept, of course all from second hand material. On three smaller frames I made the schoolbags out of the same fabric. At the exhibition there will also be two real uniforms modelled on mannequins.
